    paper work...eeeish

started an electrical bussiness over 20 years ago...with a stepladder...and a toolbox i purchased while doing my apprentiship...a vw golf...and R3000 bad debt...put my head down and battled for around 4 years before i even made a cent...but i was determined to make it work...when i walked out the classroom in std 9...everyone laughed at me and the teacher told me i would be a nobody without matric...boy was i gona prove them wrong...lied to my father and told him i was gona study at night...but had no intention...i have however since completed NTC 1-4...did my installation rules and became an installation electrican...a couple of years later they introduced a new level...master electrician...which i then did the 3 month block passed both the exams...got the experience and applied to become a master electrican...i have also completed PLC courses...estimating and tendering courses etc...attended many seminars and refresher courses for installation rules....it has been a long difficult road...i have been trying to grow the company to a point where i can offer a one stop solution for all electrical services (construction...general maintenance and fault finding...but i have been trying to introduce specialised maitenence and fault finding using a fully radiometric thermal imager and specialised power quality analysers)

    my hands on experience includes...

design and manufacturer of complex water and waste treatment control panels...including telemetry.(10 years hands on experince installing and commisioning the panel once manufactured)
design and wiring of safety control systems for mechanical equipment.
design and wiring of PLC and VSDs panels.
design and installation of wiring for factories.
class 1 division 1 installations for a pharmaceutical company and various other installtions.
thermography (yearly thermal audits for a variety of factories)
power quality analysing (power factor correction...fault finding...load balancing...energy management etc)
    office complex wiring installations
inspection reports and COCs (domestic...commercial..industrial...hospitals...s uger mills)
total rewires for domestic...commercial and industry.
factory relocations (including sealy...edblo...nampak...and a few mechanical/hydraulic workshops)
    industrial refrigeration installations
commercial aircon installations (involved in a R10 million + project)
i could go on and on...but my hands on experience is not the problem...nor is aquiring all the equipment...i have everything i need to carry out the work and some...as and when required...i have a pretty good idea as to what i am doing when it comes to the hands on work and what i dont know i am always keen to learn.

one thing i have learnt in the 20 + years of being in bussiness...you need to be a good bussinessman to run a bussiness not a good trademan...i lack being a bussinessman.

i read daves blog about how he dicided that it was time to move up a notch...and been watching how he has grown...and can relate to the position he was in...i do believe there are many companies in the same position...work from home and operate as a one man bussiness

i have a couple of other ventures (one building wooden furniture from scrap wood and the other building alluminum frames) which i have started..
