    Where can I get a Telephone Handset only (Mic and Speaker)

    Hi All,

    I have a new project, in which I only need lots of the handsets which houses the microphone and the loudspeaker, preferably with the curly cord.

    Just like the handset you get on fax machines which have manual dialing.

    Anyone know who I can contact?

    I've only ever seen after market telephone headsets supplied separately never just the handset on its own. I can't help thinking at the price of a complete phone you may as well just buy those and throw away the rest.

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for your reply. This is OK for one or two, but I may be looking at a couple of thousand units if this project takes off.

    A search on google for telephone handset manufacturers might get you started. Locally phonetronics might get you going in the right direction.

    Hi Kevin,
    Yes the intercom would work, provided it has an electret mic, and the price is good

    Dave,
    Thanks for the link, it is a good start.

    Hi Kevin,

    An electret micis not a conventional coil and magnet type of microphone. It requires a small DC voltage to enable it to work. Because of this technology, the microphone can be very small.

    I did a search on Alibaba and found the following;

    http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?...oduct_en&fsb=y

    You can easily import the parts from China, we import stuff every now and again without any hassle.
