We did good business with the mines but now they bought their own equipment.

At least we had a good return.

Now it private sector (public) or sell.
Any tips on how to make this work in the private sector?

(Only 3 interested parties so far, but cannot sell for the offers.)

i have the same problem...do work for companies...they see how i do my reports and what equipment i use...ask a lot of questions...then i get a call from one of the maintenance managers asking what i think of various products...to find out they have also purchased the same equipment as i have...heres the joke...i forgot to tell them that it has taken me 7 years of continuous us of the equipment and many hours of research on the equipment to understand what settings to use for what applications...and how to read the results...the question is will their maintence team have the skill and patients to learn and understand the equipment...one thing i have learnt it is one thing operating a fluke 289 (easy as pie) but when it comes to more advanced products like the 435...it gets a little more complicated...they say a picture is worth a thousand words...but if you cant see the picture for what it is...its worth nothing...in fact could be an expensive ooops.

i see the camera brand new goes for around $8000...which in sa would cost around R80 000...if you get anywhere near R30 - 40 000 i would be suprised...i was offered R20 000 for my camera and i paid 70 000 for mine...told the oke to go fly an kite...i would rather impress my customers with my toys than sell it for that price...it makes my bussiness looks good...especially when fault finding...which in turns generates more work.

there is a small market tight market in the private sector...and most big companies use the same people...who have been around for a long time.

If you can use it on your significant other and it indicates when she's hot to trot then you could use that as a marketing angle

My last post Apr 2012, is there a glitch in this site's date stamp system? :-)

Thanks Murdock & AndyD, I still have it for the same reasons you have Murdock, and kept it for the purpose Andy suggested
