How good are you at swallowing your pride?

I wrote this one late last night and wanted to share it here as it's so relevant to pretty much any business owner:

How good are you at swallowing your pride? It's quite a difficult thing to do but I'm getting better and better at it.

Today I discovered something that my employee did that was quite wrong. Of course, to my mind, it's just downright silly that she did it that way but, to her mind, she did exactly what was requested or, at the very least, she did what made most sense to her based on what I said. In other words, I wasn't absolutely, perfectly clear in instructing her.

This is a bit of a bastardisation of a saying in the MLM world, but..

If it wasn't for the people, (this) business would be easy

It's what makes putting business systems together such a fascinating challenge
    I just absolutely love it!

Fascinating, in this context, is a fun way of saying: torturous but strangely addictive :P

In real estate if you are not able to swallow your pride and ride a sometimes embarrasing punch you not gonna last long. Just today I checked our records, in an attempt to source a R3.5m house, found one which had the land size my client required, phoned the owner only to be told it had been sold in August last year! this property had slipped through our books and I had made myself and my company look a little foolish-all ended well as some quick talking apology enabled a dignified retreat,haha..that's life'what do they say ? Pride comes before a fall, something to be kept in mind,no matter what industry you are in!
