I do not get the point. Why choose a warrior if you can choose a cheerleader?

Besides the Romans there are no Italian warriors, I could be one of them cause they give up after the first shot, then no more war.

You are clearly referring to the defeat of the Italians during the second world war i.e. Mussolini was ousted, he was rescued by some skozeny character, but the Germans didn't want to let go of Italy so they sent their men in to restore order....Leigh's choice of the scotish highlander is interesting. I'm not entirely sure if the IRA descended from them, but the Irish were and still are formidable characters..

Somehow I tend to admire Alexander, he was a great strategist, and probably the first general, from which many case studies are made.

But then again the Chinese had good war maneuvers as well.

I think that Genghis Khan probably also a brilliant leader, in which he used reputation to get control of China. Whilst we are only reminded of his atrocities, you need to understand the era he was dealing with. The first city he conquered and butchered every one save for a hand full off survivors, in which he sent ahead of him to warn other cities. By the time he had arrived, they were only eager to surrender. S effectively he conquered using his reputation. But what was also clever of him was that he maintained the governing system in place, and simply had a few of his own men in strategic places to ensure the taxes were paid to him. He finally joined China as one large state, which opened a safe gate way to trade with Europe.
