Easyfile & Employee Tax Numbers 201108 Submission

    Hi

I am recently employed at a new business, I do not have Easyfile experience as at my previous job I had a payroll administrator working for me. I have logged in to the Easyfile system and can see the 201108 submission was done (still awaiting SARS response). What confuses me is that when I view the employees there are no tax numbers captured against any of the employees. Would it have been possible to complete the submission without these tax numbers being populated?

Well I'm out on this one - I've never even tried to submit the recon without all the tax numbers in place.

    Easyfile

    Hello,
SARS accept submissions without tax numbers. What I would suggest you do is to synchronise your easyfile with the efiling login which you use to submit the EMP501 thru. This might bring up the tax numbers. YOu can also export these numbers so that you can import or type it into your payroll package. After you have synchronized on Easyfile, the income tax nubmer will automatically be added to your employee's profiles.

If there are still a few without income tax numbers, you can make sure that all the relevant info is completed (View / Edit Employees) - i.e. banking details, id number, address , tel number and then click on IT REG. This should tell you straight away what's going on. You need to be online.

If you have any Easyfile related queries you are welcome to phone or email me directly.

    thanks & good luck,
    christsel
