been having some fun with these rather challenging random tripping issues...yesterday i was called out to another one...after 2 hours of searching for cables which were buried in the concrete...boxes covered and plastered over etc etc...i managed to find the fault at where thasurfix had been stripped..the person he terminated the cable must have just cut the red wire...and it would arch and blow open then you switch on and the lights would work again for a while then trip again.

one of the others it seems the surge protection plugs were causing the random tripping...cut them out and havent had a call for 2 weeks now.

Great to hear you're making headway. There's nothing more rewarding than faultfinding (after you've found the problem )
