looking for good debt collector company in JHB-area

    Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good and reputable debt collector in the JHB are. I've heard some stories of companies who only charge you once they've collected the money from the debtor and think that's a good idea.

Our accounts department simply can't handle the load anymore and I need to look for someone who does this for a living.

    Any pointers, or advice?

Is your debtor's book really that big? Debt collectors are expensive and may charge you a 10% collection fee plus expenses. If you have clients with regular monthly payments you can arrange to collect it by stop order or via a debit order company if you are too small to set up your own debit orders.

If it is just admin related, there are ways and means of improving your collections by putting the right systems in place.

Yea, the amount they charge can go up as high as 30%. There may also be a cost per collection too. Some only charge if they get the money, some charge for doing certain things despite this.

I only offload accounts which are 5k+ and normally which have already been terminated due to non-payment.

Having a sound legal contract with your clients is the most important.
