Make a spreadsheet. You can always port the data to another databse such as ACCESS if you need to.

Adrian is right. The quickest way is a spreadsheet. And then use pivot tables to extract your data. The great thing about such a databse, is its flexibility. You can redesign your reports at a mouse click, and look at and analyse your data literally in any format you choose.

Scaffold, can you go into more detail? What exactly would you expect from your database?

There are numerous free applications available, but their suitability depends on your requirements. Do you simply want to keep track of supplier/customer contact details? Do you want to keep track of purchases and sales? How much information do you want to store?

    Hi Aragon

Like I said, it depends on what exactly Scaffold wants, but among others, there's Open ERP, JFire and Free CRM. JFire and OpenERP are full ERP systems, so I suspect that they'll be overkill and that Free CRM is closer to what Scaffold wants. If the requirement is so simple that even Free CRM is overkill, Scaffold could take a look at a very simple application that I wrote some time back.

Here's a page full of links to free CRM systems; www.smallbizcrm.com/free-single-user-crm.html.

Disclaimer: I haven't personally used the systems that I listed; my time is almost entirely devoted to another ERP system.

    Hey rfnel,

Thanks for the info. I will look into it asap. I basically need to sort customers from suppliers and group them somehow. I also want to maybe be updated on a daily basis of where we stand with each customer and supplier. We are building contractors and currently do alot of scaffolding. I find it hard to keep track of what one supplier is doing for us and what the customers are waiting for. I sound like a retard. lol

    Thanx
