    Business Purchase

    I intend purchasing a machine which is R120k. I would like to request a discount seeing that im paying cash but what i would like to know would 3 post dated cheques be termed as cash?

    Depends on the view of the supplier.
    As a supplier I wouldn't like that deal at all. Very risky with the chance of cheques bouncing.

    To me cash is full, confirmed payment prior to the realease of goods, usually by EFT or physical cash itself.

    Not in my book either.

    I consider "cash" as irrevocable* settlement in full on the day of provision.

    *hard currency, EFT or bank issued cheque - EFT being first prize.

    I agree cash or EFT with full confirmation. Post dated cheques and even correctly dated checques would not equal COD for us.

    Nope not for me either. To me CASH is money in the bank NOW. Therefore why would I give u a discount for cash if I have to wait 3 months for it.
