    THANK YOU Lawyer Destroyer.......that is such explicit advice. It just it so much easier when the process is spelt out. I shall follow all the steps as mentioned in your response. I am sure that your information may be applicable to many and that it will help them as much as it has helped me.     Yes, you can do both. The Criminal Procedure Act states that it is lawful to file both civil and criminal. That captain seems like an idiot, (no knowledge of the law). Have a look at it.
