    Banner ideas

    I'm playing with a few banners to use for promoting our site.

    This is what I've come up with so far:

    1.

    2.

    3.

    4.

    5.

    What do you like?
    What don't you like?
    Any suggestions?

    If you happen to get the urge to use one of these banners on your site, here's a code option you can use:
    Code:
    <a href="http://www.theforumsa.co.za"><img src="http://www.theforumsa.co.za/images/forumsa_468_60_5.png" border="0" alt="The Forum SA" /></a>
    This particular code snippet would reference banner 5. To choose a different banner, change the last number just before the .png part of the code.

    You can also change the link reference to include your referrer code. Simply replace
    Code:
    <a href="http://www.theforumsa.co.za">
    with
    Code:
    <a href="http://www.theforumsa.co.za/index.php?referrerid={userid}">

    No 4 is the most striking. Well done.

    Combination of 2 and 4...

    Light grey background; Let's Talk Business in BOLD, but letters not too fancy, and tag line of A South African discussion forum....

    Thanks Riaan. I've pulled that suggestion together to make no. 5 above.

    Thanks SoftDux. I think the layout idea got more refined as I got feedback.

    I was thinking the first prize is that once you've got a layout kinda working, it really comes down to color schemes - which is heavily affected by the color scheme of the site on which it's going to be displayed. I'm hoping between 3, 4 and 5 I've got most bases covered, but I was thinking:

    It would be really sweet if there was a piece of software that would use the layout, but apply a custom selected color scheme defined by the client - something like how Google does their thing with Adsense. Are there any options out there?
