    Credant

    Hi Forum experts

I have some of my personal files on my company laptop which I am not able to save to flashdisk because of credant. I don't want to delete the files as I don't have a backup of it. I used a company flashdisk some time back which had to be configured and password protected to save files to it, but even that does not work any longer. I even had it reformatted but there is no longer a prompt for the password so it will not save to it.

Any way around this or other bright ideas to try?

    TIA

It is software that prevents one from copying files to external media, but only allows media that has been encrypted with credant to be used.

Yep, it's centrally managed encryption software that attempts to keep data transferred to USB storage devices secure.

There's several ways around it and they're all unsavoury ranging from brute force to a reverse engineered management recovery client which is available if you know where to look but this isn't really the place for this kind of discussion. If the data is encrypted and you no longer have access it's probably best to convince the original system owners to grant you access or write it off.
