    DOUBLE GARAGE

Anyone have any idea what one would pay for a double darage to be built?

    Rough cost per square meter?

    As a complete guess, 36m^2 @ R4 500 / sq.m = R162 000.
But would probably depend on brick type, roofing material, finish, etc...

Depends very much on the construction. It can be cheaper if pre-cast concrete panels are used with a plastered finish. What are you looking for ie face brick, block with bagged finish and what type of roofing?

Plastered finish, so cement bricks or similar.

Roofing will probably be thatch, to blend with rest of house.... Pity - very expensive roofing method....

Hmmm, this might have been worth mentioning in the opening post. I don't know exact prices of thatch but the roof will probably cost twice what the rest of the build does.

When we last built, we found that Thatch is the second-most expensive roofing after Slate.....

Out of interest, does having a thatch roof really have a major impact on your insurance premiums?
