I recently started working for a company(my first job). I was filing my returns on the SARS portal when I noticed that different company has me registered as one of their employees been filing my IRP5. The company I actually work for had also filed my IRP5 and it was recorded. I am wondering if this is an error to take up with SARS or if this is a case of stolen identity to take up with police?

You might want to check with your employer as to whether they are using an intermediary for payroll services first. However, if you have an IRP5/IT3a issued against your name for income you have not received, definitely go to SARS.
