Does this mean an approved inspection authority has to sign off the COC ?

What happens to to all the IE's and MIE's ?

        Old document dated 2009.

The application fee ( according to the grapevine ) is no more R120, but R360.

The reason you need to supply the documents is so DOL knows what to put on your registration certificate.

Apologies. The new fee has doubled. Now R240 instead of R120.

Like I said, heard from grapevine, haven't confirmed personally.

This is actaully rather sad, I was doing a search for something and this is where I found the info.

A list of useful information for electricians that will assist them with installation standards and quality workmanship. Regulations, CoCs and standards.

Now that I am ready to start signing off a few solar installations (hence the this thread) i did a bit of research looking for some ideas.

When the COC/test report was reduced to one page, it got my back up and thought it was a terrible idea, however as I engage with other electricians and engineers (wish I could get eveyone on one platform) and we discuss the better ways to expand the COC without changing it,

We just use the COC/test test report as it is itended and referecne sections to addtional pages, which I would assume was the intention.

You can add as many pages/photo's as you feel may be needed to the COC but at least the 2 page COC sorts out when you install an Aircon vs the 4 pages from previous

Yip it was a ball ache filling outa 4 page COC/test report.

Any ideas on how we should go forward with the solar section of the test report ?

At this point in time, I do anitial for the electrical work, then add a supplimentary for the self generation section.

I have thought about starting a whattsapp group with invited registered electrians only to discuss solar challenges.

There are a bunch of groups already which I joined, however I am yet to find one to engage.
