    Customers buys the equipment

This is a common challenge faced by many installers of various products.

A customers calls you and requests a quote to install and connect a ceiling fan, no problem you allow 1.5 hours (because you dont charge travelling) and it takes 45 minutes from the time you start cutting the plastic off the box. till its ready to secure to the roof which already has a light fitting.

Bedsides all the other challenges you face like the double pole isolator or moving the light circuit to the ELU circuit, what happens if there is a problem with the fan.

Lets say the thing rattles like all the cheap ones do, or it just doesn't work out the box.

This people is where the fight starts...............

I am just using the ceiling fan as an example, there are many others examples where this applies.

Your task is complete and its time to collect money owing to you. What makes it even worse, chances are you didnt request a deposit because the fan (the bulk of the cost) was supplied.

But now the goods supplied by the customer has failed. You now start charging and hourly rate to remove and pack the unit back into the box, go to another job and have to return later.

Suddenly now the bill goes from R1275 to R2550, so how much money did the customer save buying the goods?
Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.
