[Opinion] NUR Conduit problems

Hi Guys. Please share your opinion. We are currently in a huge fight with NUR as to the quality of their conduit. The last few bundles of conduit we have purchased seems to be just a smidge bigger than it used to be. Now it is increasingly difficult to use any conduit accessories as it goes in very very tight and, like on the couplings, it does not go all the way in like it is supposed to ( till the ridge inside). I tested on a batch made in 2016 and have no problem but on batches made since 2018 the problem starts. They are trying to say it is my conduit accessories that is the problem, but firstly the conduit accessories is also NUR products and secondly, if I use another type of conduit, there is no problem. Who else has been experiencing this with their NUR conduit?

Been down this road...it is very frustrating.

Another issue is the pvc glands...the thread seems stripped on the lock nut ...so now i have to first check all the glands we buy throw all the dud ones back into a packet and swop them out ...then go through the same process...drives me nuts.

the sad part is all these product have the good SABS stamp of approval.

it only becomes a problem for the sparkies who do things right...the rest just leave the adaptors off knock out the box and shove the pipe straight into the pvc box ...same thing with the round boxes.

Some days i think why the F$%^& do i waste my time...i should become like everyone else...take a bunch on unskilled and semi skilled and dump them on site and do what they do best...who care if it is right or not.

The acceptable tolerances of PVC conduit and its associated fittings are outlined in SANS 950. Unfortunately I don't have a copy so I can't tell you what they are but if you do some investigating and their product is out of tolerance then there can be no argument from them about it being fit for purpose.
