    Adams and Adams software audit.

Sometime ago we were sent a mail by Adams and Adams attorneys, alleging our software is not fully licensed and demanding we complete an audit.

    We ignored it.

    Now we have this

Failure to comply will result in the application for deregistration of your company name.

Not sure what this is meant to mean.

I don't believe we have unlicensed software, but I don't see why we should complete an audit.

    Any advice welcome

    Who sent you this?

Adams and Adams attorneys, apparently they work on behalf of software companies including Microsoft.

I am not sure what they mean, clearly can't deregister our company, with CIPRO

Same thing happened to us, we had their guy come check and we were done.

How they get the info that you ‘might’ be running unlicensed software is another thing.

Apparently you might not but someone could have plugged in a laptop with unlicensed software on it and ran it once. It would ping to the company looking for this type of software.
So you might not have any software but someone on the premises could be using it under your nose.
