Growing Up and Moving Out

Ever been so busy you can't figure out which way is up?

Rate this Entry
As an insanely busy week has drawn to a close, I've taken a little while on this Sunday afternoon to finally reflect on the mania that is Red Giant Design Studio right now.

The entire week I've felt as though I needed 3 or 4 clones of me in order to tend to everything. We have had clients and leads contacting us left, right and centre after the launch of our new website and facebook page. I've been trying to establish and micro-manage 2 different marketing campaigns involving Adwords and Facebook advertising. I'm also trying to figure out the whole Twitter thing (follow me if you wish) and be as active as possible there. Heck, we're even doing doing some free design work for an awesome charity.

Working until 2am on regular occasions, one would expect to feel stressed and expect a burnout right round the corner. On the contrary, though, I'm loving it! I feel more driven and passionate than ever. Running my own business is my number one passion and the ambition to succeed at it has always been rooted to my being.

I posted this Facebook status update recently:

The taste of success through your own business efforts is definitely one of the most amazing feelings ever In the 4 months since starting Red Giant Design Studio we have achieved more than we did in 3 years of running Site Fusion. Love it!
And it is so true. Every bit of positive feedback I receive from friends, family, the awesome community here at TFSA, satisfied clients, even competitors, makes all that effort and hard work absolutely worth it!

It has been an amazing learning process and I'm starting to feel like we are finally heading in the direction that I have always wanted to be heading. A truly rewarding experience.

So to all the people reading this who have supported me and Red Giant Design Studio, I would like to dedicate this post to you. You make every moment worth it. I feel flattered with every kind word, humbled with every positive comment and more passionate and driven with every bit of encouragement.

Thank you all.

(Now to stop daydreaming and get back to work! I promise there will be some more... useful blog posts as soon as I get the chance. Posts about things slightly more interesting than me. Sound good? Cool.)

Mark, I can totally empathize with your enthusiasm and exhilaration - it is so gratifying when you see the fruits of your labour of love!

When you look back to the time when none of this existed, except in your imagination, and now it has been realized, you feel like a true creator - making something out of nothing, because of the choices you have made.

I sense that you and I are on very similar and parallel paths - I look forward to comparing notes in a year or two from now. You might need to travel to Pofadder to meet with me in my mobile home though!

I will look forward to it!

Perhaps we can have a remote meeting, because I may be in Timbuktu by then!

Awesome Mark! I've always believed "passion" is the one thing that separates the victims from the achievers. And you clearly have a lot of it!
