1. Race as if your life depends on it

So this sperm race (my previous blog post) still occupies my mind ... and no, sweetie, get your mind out of the gutter!

It's a pretty gruesome reality that, unless you win, you're gonna die! Every little okey in this race has to swim for dear life, because his existence really and literally depends on it. The winner receives the ultimate prize! And the fellow who finished a fraction of a second ...

2. Personality vs System in business

Are you a system based business or a personality based business?
Which is better?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of each?

Key attributes of a personality based business.
Massively dependant on a key individual, normally with a critical skill or the only decision maker. This individual is central to client relationships and is surrounded by support staff with very little discretion of their own. There are very few decision makers. Would-be usurpers to the ...
3. Are you a winner?

I heard a very inspiring view yesterday: "What was the first race you ever won?" Gosh, my mind started flipping through events of yeeeaaars gone by to answer that question. After about a minute of silence, except for the occasional "erm" and "I'm not sure", he gave up the answer... CONCEPTION!

5. South Africans and The Internet

.....
Let's face it - South Africans suck at being on The Internet.
Perhaps there is a hint of irony in me blogging about this topic in a (generally) tech-savvy community such as this, but the South African attitude towards and reaction to all things "Internet" is definitely something that demands attention.

When we look at the level of web-based activity in the US, South Africans are cavemen in comparison! Although we are in the information age, ...
6. Can a well-timed break get you there faster?

I've been promising myself a break for a while now, but I've kept putting it off. The problem is a demanding life keeps yelling "now isn't a good time" and drowns out the quiet signals that a break is exactly what I need right now.

Last week I realised that at this rate there is never going to be a perfect time to take a break. So I may as well take that break right now anyway.

Note to self:
If you are pushing to progress, there will always be something
