    FNB OnLine Banking System Crash?

    Hello All

I have been trying to access FNB OnLine Banking since 8pm last night. Call centre helpline is going unanswered. The branches - Eastgate and Port Shepstone can't help.

Does anyone know what's happening? I have to make an urgent eft.

If anyone can get some info to me I'd appreciate it.

    MarieAnnetta,
I had no problem logging on yesterday I will try later today and post if I have problems. The call centre has always been helpful for me. Just the creative bank charges are peeing me off.

Probably not the answer you were looking for so I didn't make a post at the time.

No problem my side. Perhaps try doing it from another computer, it may be your firewall acting up.

Thanks to all - I did get in finally. Ian I agree, bank charges are excessive. Hopefully now that Barclays and ICBC are in the country, a price war is on the horizon.

I though the same when Virgin started supplying financial services but they just jumped on the overpriced bandwagon. I live in hope of a price war still but I'm not holding my breath.

Guys with i really dont agree with u in terms of the charges..
Fnb's cheque account starts from as little as R69.00 a month for unlimited transactions plus u get free online, cellphone banking,incontact,ebucks,1 gig free date for and ten rands free airtime when u register the first time for cellphone banking.
No bank in SA does that....

    HI bonganim23,
In general your comments are correct, but in specific they are just greedy! Let me give you my situation. For the business they just raised my interest rate by .75%. When I queried this I was told because they only had a personal surety from me they had to raise the rate. So I asked them what had changed from the previous 10 years I had been with them and asked what part of my conduct caused this they couldn't answer! So I got hold of the account managers boss (a big hassle) and he started sprouting on about the general financial risk had gone up, so when asked if this isn't priced in the prime rate already he couldn't answer, and said he would get back to me. The relationship manager did get back to me and they have now dropped the rate. I have a similar issue on my personal account with a new fee that is ongoing.

So I speak from my own experience and as always it is a case of customer beware!

By the way one thing I say to them consistently is besides greed why do you increase or raise this, I can't get answers from them besides platitudes.

FNB too? I got a phonecall from Standard Bank on Friday along the same lines. Slightly different result though - one of my company's rates came down

Still waiting for the reason, although I've got a sneaking suspicion it might be to do with the number of sureties for each account. About the only factor that makes obvious sense so far.

Amazing how the banks come up with the same tricks at the same time
And of course there's no collusion
