    IDEAL ENGINEERING BANK DETAILS

It keeps on amazing me how efficient fraudsters are. I just got an email from Ideal Engineering informing me that their banking details have not changed but there is an email going round stating that it has.

I have attached the letter that is being send around. Take a look at it and tell me how is one supposed to know that this letter is not legit.

For any Ideal engineering clients if you recieve this letter please let them know at it@idealeng.co.za

Its not always possible, thats why you should always verify the change by phoning the supplier and perhaps asking for email confirmation too.

Check that the email comes from their domain and when you phone them, use the tel numbers on your records. Do not use the numbers on the letter itself as these could be fake.

    Its a pain, but important.

This particular type of scam is quite popular. The worst of it is who's getting scammed - the poor client who pays the money into the wrong account

Wouldn't be fair on the creditor either, I guess. And I expect there'll be a fight and delayed payment too.

    No winners for sure.

We just got a warning from Ideal Engineering, so they are aware this.

Just imagine what someone on the inside can do.... Really scary stuff. Just imagine if someone has access to a domain e-mail and a legit fax number along with a phone number. This is a real danger to any company.
