    eish...

MLM and Network marketing just don't do it for me. I was involved with an international weight loss and health organization, which does produce many high earners. I know many of them personally.

Their general claim "that anybody can do it" is utter nonsense. It takes a special kind of thick skin and hard nose to "bully" a client into buying your product.

The average H*******e "rep" struggles to get beyond 25% commission, or to turn over more than R2000 a month.

Once the product is sold, you have to monitor the client, to keep the client on the right (believe everything I'm telling you!) track. One in 15 clients will go with the programme and stick it out. The pity about it all is that, although costly, the products are really great, and do work, but the marketers are actively encouraged to over-sell, and this is where the problem comes in. With all the add-ons, the "recommended program" becomes a burden for the client, while the marketer makes up to 50% commission.

Network marketing and MLM? Definitely not a winner for the average person.

Retail vs Direct Selling vs Network marketing

I have been in business by myself for the past 20 yrs - working from home. I chose to work from home in order to still have a good income and be available for my family.

    1. I am in the services trade, having a skincare salon at my home. I have to work physically for every cent. When I don't work, I don't get paid.

    2. I have the normal retail products that I sell to my clients that come to me. If I close the salon I have nothing to sell and no income.

    3. I have Direct selling skincare products where I have to contact the client to market and contact them for orders and deliver personally (hard work, and I cannot charge for delivery - very little profit). When I move to another town I have to find new customers from scratch.

    4. I have a world first Network marketing product that everybody can consume - male, female, young and old.
    • I have no list.
    • I am consuming this product and loving it.
    • No selling for retail profit is required. I can if I want to, but why would I if people can order their own product at cost and still be an asset to my business.
    • The company delivers directly to everybody's door. No delivery problems.
    • No products sitting on my shelf to try and get rid of in order to do my required monthly purchase.
    • I market on the internet.
    • I do not need to convince anybody.
    • If they can read, do their own research and see the benefits, they become my client or my distributor, depending on what they want from the product.
    • I am slowly building a business over time, that can provide me with an income after I decide to close the salon, move to another town and have no more skincare clients. Everybody doing there own ordering and telling another person.

Now please tell me why I should not like MLM?

I follow Donald Trump very closely. I am skeptical about people who advertise his details as I know he would not lower his standards to this type of advertising. To me this looks like trouble.

I am at the moment working a two tier MLM and network. It is working for me at the moment. My advertising is being done on Facebook at the moment. It is where I am building my network. I have just started forming a network on Twitter as well.

    @sweet success and @shaun.

Followed your links, and quite frankly I don't see anything new, except maybe the products. I did look at Xocai a while ago, and I would rather go to the corner ceffee and pig out on a Cadbury's slab.

For affilliate income, I still reckon google ads are tops. We don't make a fortune, but it's there. We have also been up and down the affilliate road, and it sucks. It's far better getting traffic for your own site(s), and generating sales for yourself.

Traffic exchanges will get traffic to your site(s), but, it WILL be the wrong kind of traffic.

(@sweet success, I sold Avon, from home, and from a website, so do the same for your beauty and skin-care oroducts. Probably a better market, and commission than Xocai)

An affilliate site will not generate an income without serious marketing. I wrote an article about this some time back, and I think I'll post it to the forum. Will leave the link here when its up.

Sorry guys, I am just very sceptical, as I have been where you are now.
