    Treading on others

I have an issue that I need some advice on. I really hate it to step on others and expose people. But what to do when a "so called" expert publish an SEO article with absolute nonsense in it on a very prominent marketing site. Should I comment on the article and correct the false statement? And if I decide to do so how do I do it? I mean, it ultimately damages his business and his reputation and will surely start a hefty debate which he will loose. Maybe should just let it be?

The trick is to debate the points, not attack the person. So

Should I comment on the article and correct the false statement?
Absolutely. Just try to do it with tact. Starting with a compliment generally helps...

Oh yeah. And don't expect the same courtesy in return - but observers can generally tell who is the *sshole.

Thanks Dave. I decided to wait a few days and see if someone else will say something before me, if not, I will definately follow your advice. I think it is a cool guy that was clearly incorrectly briefed by his SEO guys, so I will not be the normal Chathead as always

Well around here you're very tactful. Or is it just that we're a good influence...

Well my official nickname (not alias) on two other forums was Chathead for a while. Some people just have the ability to bring out my inner being I guess. Lol.

This is a trickey one, but one has to put the truth before money / image / etc - which isn't the case these days anymore.

But, to lead someone into a false info, which is wrong. To approach someone like this couldn't be easy, but I'm sure with enough "evidence" to back you, it would be in your favour
