I have been taking note of were my customers bank. Looks like FNB is becoming the most popular.

Back in the day Nedbank was one of the popular business banks, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
Comments are based on opinion...not always facts....that's why people use an alias.

I've stuck with Nedbank for 40 years, through their ups & downs. I can say with certainty that in the last year or so there has been some changes--the sort of changes i was looking for

Found another fee which i havent noticed before. Because i havent been going into my overdraft there have been no interest charges, etc, etc. However on friday i noticed an overdraft fee of R450 (overdraft initiation fee) I contacted the bank to find out what it is all about.

I am told that it is a yearly fee they charge which is a percentage of the overdraft with a min fee of R450.

Sometimes i wonder how a small business is suppose to survive with all the fees and costs. No just bank fees but, taxes, UIF, DOL, Bargaining council, bank, Cipro, workmans comp, ECB, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. I can understand why so many small operators are pirates.

Then, when you DON'T use the overdraft, they charge a fee for "unused facility"

Yeah. I think I'm going to start charging my customers for the stock they don't take each month. Seems like a good business model.

Do Eskom and Standard Bank share the same management?

You had to wait 40 years, heck you are a patient fellow
I also have a Nedbank facility, but I feel FNB is more innovative with their banking.
The only reason that I have a Nedbank account, is simply to spread my risk in case the sh!t hits the fan.

    Problem goes on...

I completed my Company PAYE return yesterday, and need to pay.

Those involved will know that now payments are done on a "push" method - a bill for the amount arrives in the "My Bills" section of the Bill Payments, you click to release it, and done.

    Till this month: all day

"We could not retrieve any of your bills as the system is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

In desperation - you don't pay SARS late - I tried to load them as beneficiaries so I could pay. However, the "Beneficiary code" is wrong"....

I ended up phoning SARS - who are very efficient - to be told you cannot JUST use the tax reference numver: you must use your number followed by "L00000000".

It promptly loaded, and I paid them....

Now - I don't know if it is SARS or S Bank at fault with the link - but it is pathetic...

    OR

A great way for SARS to make 10% penalty interest on hundreds of thousands of tax payers who cannot pay...
