Exclamation Errors after doing Win 8.1 Update

Hi, I ran Windows 8.1 update and then had errors with my Pastel Xpress V12. Managed to do a fix in the registry as advised.
However, now after posting payments and receipts - keeps showing me I have open batches - and cannot now run customer statement.
Also, it seems something has gone wrong with my stationery as it cant seem to find the files - yet they are there still. Also, gives me
issues when I try to do a backup where I have always done the backup - but if I create the folder direct onto the c:\ drive - it does it with no problem.

My main thing is to get rid of the open batches - I ran cash book details and it shows that my payments and receipts are there.
    So really unsure why.

    Thank you.

Windows 8.1 upgrade / Pastel express conflict

    To Neville Bailey

I've done an upgrade to Windows and now I can't access my various company accounts on Pastel.

I've gone through various forums with you suggestions/possible solutions.

I can locate the server via custom registrations, but when I click close the companies don't pull through to the open company dialog box. There are no error messages either.

Please can you help me as it is our financial year end now end of February.

Thank you in advance for your assistance
    Leanne

    Hi Leanne,

Click here to download an email that I received from Pastel relating to the same query that I lodged with them late last year, which is self-explanatory.

Before I try to troubleshoot the issues that you are experiencing since the Windows upgrade, perhaps read through the email (click here to download) that I received from Pastel relating to the Windows 8.1 upgrade. Make sure that you have done everything outlined in the email and then see if you still have a problem.

    Hi Neville,

I followed your instructions and then it seemed that I had lost my companies again. I contacted Pastel support and what I had to do was to :
    Locate server
    Select Custom
    Then select Registration
And then it brought up the company

When I then went into the payments and receipts - and closed - there was no open batches - bit weird.
    And now can print statements.

This is originally what pastel instructed me to do - I am sharing it for anyone else that runs into issues with this update. Apparently MS retracted it, due to issues caused.

Thank you for your email. We apologize for the delayed response.

With regards to your companies disappearing after the update to windows 8.1. Please click on the windows key button on your keyboard hold it down and press R then follow the below directory and share the pastel partner V12 for to every with full control. This should sort the problem out.
    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Virtua l Store\Machine\Software\Wow6432 Node\Softline\Pastel Parnter V12

    Hope this can help others.

    Thanks again for your assistance.
I have another question but will post a new topic for this. Thank you.

    Hello Neville,
I am experiencing the same problem as everyone else by the sounds of it. Just done a Windows 8.1 upgrade and now the companies don't pull through to the open company window.
Could you be so kind as to send me the email (or emails) from Pastel?
    Thanks very much
    Jonathan
