    Life and death

Many years ago, one of the Companies for which I work took out life insurance on a person that owed a lot of money to it, with the person's knowledge and blessing. Said person never paid the money owing and the company kept on paying the life cover premium hoping to, one day, recover the amount after the person's death. Having lost touch with this person, how would I be able to find out if this individual is dead or alive? The insurance company says it's not their problem.......

Home affairs could possibly tell you whether a death certificate has been issued for that person. If that does not work I don’t think a private investigator would charge too much just for proof of death.

googling the full name may yield usable results.

Social media could be helpful, but it certainly will not be definitive evidence for the insurer
