Liberty Reserve - how to launder billions

Liberty Reserve has come up on TFSA quite a few times, more often than not in association with questionable offerings looking to separate you from your hard earned money. It seems like there was good reason why Liberty Reserve was such a popular choice by these shady characters.

No, Liberty Reserve itself wasn't trying to advertise on TFSA. However, they were very popular as the payment mechanism of choice with many a scam artist trying to post content on TFSA.

Most of it got flagged and killed in moderation, but every now and then we'd move one to the scam alert forum as a heads up:

Earn Instant $4.83 In your Liberty reserve
I DISCOVERED A PROFITABLE AND PAYING INVESTMENT COMPANY
HOW TO HACK ANY LIBERTYRESERVE ACCOUNT

I just grabbed those ones randomly - there are more.

About the most common was posts trying to sell credit card and CVV numbers, which was plainly a criminal activity so none of those ever saw the light of day here. Quite a few punting HYIP's too.

I haven't read any of the posts on punting but there is money to be made in punting.
The only problem is it is no get rich quick scheme.
No matter what sport you decide to bet on takes a lot of studying, a lot of patients & you have got to be able to read the game properly.

Perhaps I should have used the word "promoting"
As in "promoting HYIPs" (essentially involving pyramid schemes - not the sport betting you're thinking of).

    Thanks Dave

Sorry I had never heard the word punting" being used like that before & misunderstood what you were saying.
    essentially involving pyramid schemes
    There I couldn't agree more.
Back in 1962 Better Business Bureau said "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"
If you follow that phrase you wont be far wrong.
