    How to Sell Photos Online

As some of you may know, I have been seconded by the KZN Athletics Federation to be their photographer at all their events.

Although I am not charging KZNA for my services (most officials at these meetings are volunteers, and KZNA doesn't have a huge budget), I am looking at charging athletes and/or parents of athletes for my photos. I only want to sell electronic copies of the photos - no prints.

What is the simplest way of displaying my photos online, so that potential buyers can view them and then order and pay for selected photos online?

Obviously I don't want people to download the photos without paying for them, but they must still be able to browse them online in order to choose which ones they want to buy.

    Any ideas?

Have a look at Jetline action photos The site is slow but worth looking at just search for a spar race and a common name. Then you can see how they do it. But I think that is a custom website.

I am trying out photofrog, which does exactly what I want - at a small fee, of course.

That looks great just as in retail you have to expect some theft. I have seen prints where the guys have taken screen shots and printed those, they look terrible with all the watermarks. And your cheapest at R5 is a very good price.

Will Photobucket help? But the target customers would not be event participants as they should have brought their own camera and have little demand. Sales via Photobucket may have thin so a large volume of sales may be required.
