Pastel Cashbook import error Windows 8 / Office 365

    Hi,
I am struggling to import cashbook batches into pastel.
It seems that it is an Office 365 or Windows 8 issue, as once I have opened the batch in excel and do the text to coloms, save it and then try to import I get the following:
Line 1: Date must be in the format DD/MM/YYYY
    Line 1: Invalid Date
Line 1: GDC field must be G.......
Line 1: Contra account must be this cash book.....
This problem is exactly the same on 2 different machines running Win 8 & Office 365

    I don't have this problem on a Win7 machine running Office 2012.

Does anyone have the same problem?
    Thanks

I doubt that it is Windows 8 or Office 365, as I am running both and I don't have issues with importing of batches.

Could you send me a copy of the CSV file so that I can check it out on my side?

You might want to look at the default short date format settings for Windows - many programs use this setting to format the date field.

    Good point, Dave.

In fact, these are the Regional Settings that you need to make in Windows 8:

Make sure you are set to English (South Africa).

Under Additional Settings, do the following under both the Number tab and the Currency tab: decimal symbol must be changed from a comma to a fullstop and digit grouping symbol must be changed from a space to a comma.

I also have the exact same problem at the moment. I have changed the settings as you described above but Pastel still gives the same error. If you could please help me as soon as possible it would be appreciated.

    Hello!

I came across all this valuable knowledge whilst searching how to import CSV files into Pastel from Excel. I'm working for a charity that is running Pastel Xpress 11 - old I know - but as stated we are a charity where old software is the norm. I'm struggling with the same issue at the top of this thread with the import date etc - I've changed the settings on Windows 10 as per the feedback here, and hoping that someone can scratch their heads and remember all these years back as to how to get around this.

    Yours in hope
