Excel spreadsheet - to convert to CSV for Easyfile import

    Hello,
I would like to know if there is anyone out there that can assist us to create, from an existing Excel Spreadsheet, the correct data fields in CSV format to be imported into Easyfile for emp501 recon purposes.
We have a recon template (excel) that we use and need to link this to the correct fields and then create the CSV file.

I have search the internet and apart from Laurence Lombard's website (member on this forum), the only other place where I found anything that might help is "Open Office.org Community Forum", but I don't know this program and tried to figure it out...but no success in the end.

You can email me direclty - private message via my profile.

    Thanks.

In excell you can move the rows and columns as you see as they should be to import to match your final destination, once you have done this, you copy the sheet and paste the "amounts" only to a new spread sheet, then do a save as, on the file type select CSV. The file will then be saved with a comma after each variable in a line, and a new line of information for each column.

Thanks for the comment ... but it's unfortunately not that simple. There ae different numeric fields and criteria that SARS has prescribed and for me its GREEK to say the least... if anyone can assist my company to create a sheet that can be linked to our standard recon template, we will be glad to pay for your services.

    Thanks.

Well, it will save me valuable time that can be spent on other issues. Roughly calculated, time saved about 180 hours. What it would be worth to me....let's see... less grey hair, less stress, less frustration, = definately more worth than any amount of money...
But then again, I don't make the final decisions...

thanks IMHO for the contact person...!

I am sure any basic programmer might be able to do this for you but do not really see the need as MS Excel can convert files directly to CSV and vice versa. How many columns are we talking about and how many rows of data? Does the output file require headers or just the data?
