Have done an App for your Android phone?

Has any one written an APP for an Android phone and been able to down load it successfully to the Android phone?

If so, what package did you use to write the app in, and how did you download it to your Android phone.

Yes I did. I used Basic4Android. It is an app that converts between various modeling scales.

    Hi Adrian,

    Thank you for your reply.
What was the level of difficulty, and how long did it take you to get into Basic4Android, and what was the cost of the package?
Did you try using the Blue tooth side of the android OS?

    This is the site.

    http://www.basic4ppc.com/

The environment is extremely easy to use. It has many many libraries that encapsulate all the coplex functionality.

There are lots of demo apps avalable and also lots of help on the forum.

If you can write a bit of VB script then you'll feel right at home using the product.

I messed around with ADT, which is available from the android SDK site (if I remember correctly). Comes with a stylized version of eclipse and java support, as well as many headaches if you aren't a coder. I didn't go much further than a couple of hello world apps and a small test of the android maps API, though I remember it was pretty intuitive and you had the choice of using wysiwyg/coding for interface design.
It also allows you to plug in your android device and use it for debugging (particularly useful if you need to do anything that relates to playstore services).
