Have you looked at Freshbooks and/or Pastel My Business Online? They're two of the more trusted cloud-based accounting packages.

I use Pastel's online alternative for small businesses and I must say I'm quite impressed. None of the hardcore controls like typical Pastel packages have - it's perfect for a small business.

My wife loves Pastel...I hate it, it is probably the least intuitive bit of software I've ever used...

On the face of it, it looks great for people who have simple needs and absolutely no idea on how to set up an accounting package. At R150 (plus VAT) per month, I can't argue with the price either - particularly as that incudes a Payroll manager.

I didn't see any "size of operation" limits published either...

Of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The true test will be people actually using it, and I'm afraid that won't be me. I've got needs that it definitely won't satisfy.

If there is anything obvious missing - I didn't see anything that seems to manage stock.
