Earth leakage trip 7 min past the hour every hour

Earth leakage trip 7 min past the hour every hour. How do I locate the problem? This started after I replaced the old Earth leakage. Driving me mad. The problem is on one of about 7 circuit breakers or combination of them. This tends to happen only at night, but does happen here and there during day hours.

    Maybe disable the timer switch....

Meant as a joke, but it seems there may be sense in the madness?

If your geyser is fed via the ELCB, remove it. Just make sure it has good earthing because this could be the beginning of the end of your element.

I had this problem about a year ago. In the end, I have put the old earth leakage unit back. I forgot about it and replaced it now again. So this condition is around for a long time now. Only timer around, is the one at the pool pump.

Why would it be hourly at night and only once or twice during the day?

The geysers have no effect on the tripping of the ELCB. Neither the lights. Just the plugs. It seems to be random, or building up something, that makes it trip in exactly 60 min at night! Exactly 7 min past the hour!

Hi there! if your ELCB trips every 1hour 7min, then switch your CB's off - one by one for 2-3 hours each.
This will take long but will eventually locate your culprit.

Alternatively, get another ELB, and connect one circuit through it every couple of days, until you find the one that trips the ELB. It is a bit of work, as you need to find the neutral as well of the circuit you pushing through the ELB. This way you will find it, with out the inconvenience of not having power on all the circuits at the most inoprtune times, like when you are away for the week end/holiday.

This is what I am doing. What makes it difficult, I cannot do it during the day, as I can leave all the ELB's on during the day and nothing will trip. I left everything on today again, the whole day and had my first trip at 18h07.

I have figured out, it is at night, with 6 breakers switched off, that I do not get trip's. However, if I go on any combination, smaller than these 6, I get trips.

Yes, it is a CBI. But it is the second brand new one. The first was a 63amp 3ka, the second new one is 63amp 6ka.

    I am still testing....

OK, the six off produced no trip at 19h07. I am now leaving them like that to confirm 'no trip' at 20h07.

The bottom row of CB's is 13 is total.

How do I check if they have something in common, that will cause a trip, even if it is not the guilty CB? I suspect that if I switch any of those 0's to 1, I will get a trip! Only at night though!
