How fast does the water level in your pool drop?

Over winter I probably only topped up a couple of times. Last couple of weeks it goes down by around 10cm a week, for a while I thought I might have a leak, but no obvious signs.

How much does your pool drop per week in summer?

I suppose you have more wind in Cape Town this time of the year. I have seen our pool drop by up to 10 cm in one day due to strong wind coupled with high temperature.

I'm in CT and our pool is without a cover, it loses a max of 40mm of water per week in the middle of summer. In winter it never needs topping up. I haven't needed to top up this week neither.

I guess it has been a bit windier than usual lately and the heat is picking up. I let the water drop to below the weir to see if one side dropped faster, but they dropped at the same speed, so I guess (touch wood) that is not a leak...

You can check if pool has leak.

Put bucket on top step, and fill with water so external and internal levels are identical.

If at the end of the day the outside water is lower than inside bucket, there is a leak.
