Lightbulb TIP: Easyfile - Capturing manual certificates

    Just a tip...

When capturing manual IRP5/IT3(a) certificates, complete the employee details on the left first. Then click "Save Certificate" otherwise your "Manage Source Codes" button will remain greyed out. Then you will be able to complete the source code section.

This is just something small, but I hope this helps someone. I know when I did my first PAYE recon in October last year, I felt a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks for raising that. I remember my first time around trying to do this, and yeah - figuring out that little trick had me scratching my head for a bit.

Seeing as we're on tips, my top tip would be make sure you've captured all the IRP5's and IT3(a)'s and double checked them before you start the reconciliation process. E@asyfile only adds them up for you once to arrive at the certificate value issued totals - the first time...

Damn PITA when you find you've captured a wrong value somewhere, make the change on the IRP5, and it doesn't amend the total on the EMP501 for you.

Thank you for that tip! I will make sure I follow your advice. I see "my" tip is actually in the manual, in RED But it happens that you miss something like that when you are so overwhelmed by the task at hand!
