    Question Hazardous location Work experience

    Hi there,

Due to the shortage of advertised jobs i'm seeking counsel here. I have a very stable job in a factory and would not want to give it up, however i would like to obtain my Master IE license for when i am ready to face the world of contracting again. Having said that i need to still sit Paper 1 and 2 MIE and finish my N6. But my biggest concern is in the next two years i will we able to say i have had my wiremans license for two years and have got my N6 and have sat and passed my masters papers. However, how does one go about finding a hazardous location short of bribing someone?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!!

the best would be to get a job with master electrician contractor that works in hazardous areas. the pay wouldnt be good ,but you could learn quick. otherwise become a contractor yourself and take on the smaller easier jobs in hazardous areas until you are confident.refer to your codes and hopefully somebody on this site can answer questions. explolabs in joburg (a government approved inspection authority) are the only bunch that can actually answer questions in south africa.
