Would you import from Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Vietnam?

Hi guys,

In recent months, we have been getting a lot of demand from our clients for QC inspections in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Vietnam. This is mainly in the textile/garment and shoes business. With the RMB/US$ debacle, some focus has been shifting to these emerging markets.

A few years ago, I did a few inspections in Vietnam - the assembly lines were beyond comprehension in size and organization. Top management were mostly Taiwanese, filtering down to local supervisors, and workers.

Would you consider/trust these emerging markets for your production?

Vietnam quality is superb - and they are very cost-effective. Would have no problem with them.

Yes, I the inspection reports usually pass quite well. Just one re-occurring issue I've had there is with spelling on labels - attention to those details sometimes lacking.
