Scam SMS.... again

Well you are a savvy talker adrianh but the 65 year old that got the SMS thought it was a gift of from above and wanted to call this person. That said, I wish I still worked for telemarketing, I would bug the hell out of someone like yourself just to get my Friday kicks.

Fact is thy stated it was to combat crime, second fact is some of the people that get this type of SMS mostly the elderly as it was in this case wouldn't think twice of phoning. see there are people that run scams and even educated people may fall victim. Nobody is magically excluded

In all honesty I wanted to point out that there was a scam going on. Firstly you stated RICA is not to find criminals, they stated it was. Fact is a trusting elderly person that is not informed has no need to question the motive of the SMS. That said there is a difference between need and greed. some people are in a bad way.

These buggers always use hidden numbers to sell you friggin insurance or whatever they have on offer.

That's the voice call issue sorted. As for SMS's, yea, can't block those. I get so many promotional CRAP that it's actually getting annoying now. ( I don't mind the odd SMS every now & then), but it's getting out of hand now.

brilliant, im gonna use some of those lines. but on a serious note, these cell phone scams are getting so bad that I've had about ten friends of mine come up to me and show me their "winning" smses. problem is, when I see the glow on their faces after thinking that they are instant millionaires, i just dont have the heart to tell them that they are being scammed.So I leave them to go through the whole process and measure their intelligence level by seein how far they take it before catching on
